Mrs. Miryam Zayed’s math classes are off to a great start! The students started off the year with a few team building activities before jumping into the curriculum. The 8th grade students are currently simplifying and writing linear expressions to model real world situations. During this unit, students reviewed the 8 Mathematical Practices and were encouraged to apply them as they complete class activities. These standards teach students the ability to use math and to think mathematically-developing effective mathematicians.
The Summit students are currently working with Significant Digits and using dimensional analysis to convert units of measure. These students have been viewing online videos and taking notes at home, coming to class the next day ready to apply what they learned.
