Dear Rogus Families,
I am honored to be joining Dr. Julian Rogus Elementary School for the 2018/2019 school year as your new building principal and am very excited to be a member of the Rogus family.   In the upcoming school year, I look forward to serving your children alongside a team of caring educators and staff members that are characterized by their love of students, professionalism, and passion for education.
I am currently beginning my 19th year in education, seven of those years having been in a building administrative role.  Prior to joining Rogus, I was the assistant principal at Summit Hill Junior High for the past three school years.  It has been a wonderful privilege to be a part of the Summit Hill community and to serve in a school district in which the social and emotional needs of students are supported in equal measure with high expectations for academic growth.  The development of the whole child has been a focal point of our community and I am proud to be a part of the home to school collaboration that has made it possible.  I look forward to getting to know your child and your family as we work together to in the coming months to make every day a great day for learning.
Acceptance, belonging and community have been core values of Dr. Julian Rogus School.  These essential values are the focal point for a nurturing, safe, and caring educational community that is home to some of our youngest learners.  Currently, Rogus Elementary serves the district's early childhood and kindergarten programs as well as students in first through fourth grade.  Though it is a large school with many age groups, students and staff celebrate accomplishments together across all grade-levels during quarterly celebrations and holiday events.  Rogus has a longstanding tradition of being family focused and a school in which all children and adults are welcomed, supported, and celebrate success as one.
Our assistant principal, Mrs. Tracy Bulfer will begin her second year as the AP of Rogus.  Mrs. Bulfer has 13 years of experience as a second grade teacher, an instructional coach, and an elementary school administrator.  Her knowledge of curriculum and effective teaching strategies in the elementary school setting is a tremendous benefit to both our students and staff.
On behalf of the entire staff, thank you for visiting our school website. We desire to create a learning environment for your child that will help them excel and reach their full potential during their elementary years.
If Mrs. Bulfer or I can be of any assistance to you, please feel free to contact us in the main office at (815)-464-2034.  Mr. Bradley at and Mrs. Bulfer at
Should you have questions or concerns regarding your child, please do not hesitate to contact us or your child's teacher.  As the Rogus staff, we are here to serve and look forward to working with you and your child in the months ahead.
Respectfully yours,
Mr. Colin Bradley
