7th grade SI Science

Jan. 14 to Jan. 18, 2019

Monday

Students will complete review packet on animal cells and plant cells.

Tuesday

Students will be placed into partners.

Students will create animal cell using different colors of playdough.

Students will label five different organelles of cell.

Wednesday

Students will be placed into partners.

Students will create plant cell using different colors of playdough.

Students will label five different organelles of cell.

Thursday

Students will review study guide at beginning of class. Orally review.

Students will share Kahoots.

Students will complete review worksheet on cells.

Friday

Students will take an assessment on cells.

 

8th grade SI Science

Jan. 14 to Jan. 18, 2019

Monday

Students will read and complete interactive notebook on balanced and unbalanced forces.

Students will explain: net force, balanced force and unbalanced force.

Students will create house of cards- explaining balanced and unbalanced forces verbally.

Students will complete worksheet on balanced and unbalanced forces.

Tuesday

Students will complete interactive notebook on friction.

Students will explain: friction, sliding friction, rolling friction, and static friction.

Students will take notes on three different types of friction.

Wednesday

Students will read and annotate Friction 500 lab.

Students will perform lab using the different types of surfaces and match box cars.

Students will write a conclusion on the various types of surfaces.

Thursday

Students will read and annotate interactive notebook on work and simple machines.

Students will explain: simple machines, inclined plane, wedge, lever, wheel and axel, and pulley

Students will create three simple machines using different objects.

Friday

Students will finish creating three simple machines.
