Assignments

This assignment is for the parents! This assignment is to remember that it is the quality of time that you spend with your child that is much more important than the quantity of time when you are together. For those of you who have a busy work schedule, please keep in mind that it might be the happy smile on your face, the gentle hug that you give to your child, or the encouraging words that you use which will forever become a cherished memory in your child's heart. So, take advantage of every precious opportunity to create the most beautiful memories for your child to always treasure!

Newsletter

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2018-2019 kindergarten school year!  Hopefully, you have some very special family memories that you were able to make over this past summer, and now it is time to begin making several awesome kindergarten memories during this upcoming school year!  We have so many wonderful projects and events that are planned, and I am looking forward to a year of exciting academic & social growth for our students!

I am anxious to meeting everyone on our Student Orientation Day which is scheduled from 10:00a.m.-11:00p.m. on Friday, August 17th.  On this day, you will be able to drop off your child's school supplies, and you will be receiving a special home/school correspondence folder which will contain some important information.  Inside the folder you will be provided with 3 stickers from our school office.  Each sticker will contain your child's name, my name, and our room number.  Each child is to wear one of these stickers on the first 3 days of school.

Our classroom is very easy to find.  You will be directed as to which hallway to go down.  Once you have passed through the opened set of metal doors in the hall, our classroom will be the first door on the left.  Next to my entrance door, you will see my room number (#113) and my name (Ms. Penny Petrulis).  For formal correspondence, you will see my name printed as Ms. Petrulis.  However, at all other times, I have always gone by "Ms. Penny" with the students and parents.

I will be sending home a copy of our monthly newsletter at the beginning of each month.  Each monthly newsletter will provide you with the material which we will be covering in the areas of math, reading, science, and social studies.  It will also keep you updated on special events and activities that will be occurring during the month!

In addition to our monthly newsletter, I will be sending home a "Peek at the Next Week" newsletter to give you a look at what is coming up for the following week in class.
