This week in class
August 23, 2017
I hope that you and your family had an enjoyable and relaxing summer. My name is Mrs. Leonard, and I will be your child’s Speech-Language Pathologist. This is my ninth year working in Summit Hill 161.
As you know, your child is enrolled in Speech and Language therapy at school. We will be doing many activities to improve their speech and language skills. I will be providing a red speech folder for each student. This folder will be sent home with activities to practice, notes, or general information that I would like for you to have/read. Please remind your child to bring the folder back to school the next day. Additionally, I will provide supplemental activities and parent handouts that will be available on the district website:
1. www. summithill.org
2. Arbury Hills
3. Teacher Pages
4. Mrs. Leonard
In order to attain the most benefit from Speech and Language services it is necessary to practice at home. This practice will help with carryover from the therapy setting to other environments (i.e., home, classroom, playground, etc.). Generally it is best to practice at a specific time on a regular basis for short periods of time (5-10 minutes).
I am very excited to work with your child and make progress toward their speech and language goals. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you at Open House or in the near future. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me at Arbury Hills School or by email, email@example.com. Thank you in advance for your help and I look forward to a terrific school year!
