The past week we have been learning about our Five Senses. This week we will continue our theme of Five Senses and tie it into Apples. On Tuesday we will celebrate Johnny Appleseed’s birthday with tasting apples and painting with them. Be sure to send in your child’s permission slip to taste apples. They will not be allowed to taste without it. We will also talk about the life cycle and parts of an apple. We are finishing up identifying and printing the alphabet. Our sight words this week are: the & in. Be sure to keep practicing reading all of the sight words we have learned. In math we will finish chapter 2 which focuses on comparing numbers. We will also be making a graph to compare our favorite type of apple.
Baggie of books came home this past week with a note explaining them. Please keep these bags in your child’s backpack so we can use them and add books during the week.
We have been bringing class books home and students are remembering to turn them in the next day! Great job! It is important to read the books the night it is sent home so I can pass the book to the next student to read. Every child will have a turn to take the book home even if they were not at school to be a part of the book.
