Welcome to Mrs. Roberts’ Kindergarten Webpage!
Here’s what’s happening the week of February 11th
This week’s Star Student: Aubrey
PHONICS- We will focus on the letter r.
WORD FAMILY- We will work on the /et/ word family. This is a great time to practice rhyming words since all the words in the word family rhyme. Tell your child an /et/ word and another word to see if they rhyme or not. For example net, wet and then net, nap.
SIGHT WORDS- will, be, into, that, your, who. This week our words are from the basketball words. I will test for ball words once a week.
OUR THEME- This week we will be reading Valentine books. We will be talking about problem and solution.
MATH- We are continuing to work on making, writing, and comparing numbers to 19.
If you are sending birthday treats or invitations please make sure you send enough for 23 students.
Store bought Valentines that are pre-packaged with treats are acceptable for handing out to classmates. Home-made treats, goody bags or separate food items attached to Valentines will not be allowed to be handed out to classmates due to food allergies. All Valentines with treats will remain unopened while at school and must go home in their original packaging. Please ensure that every classmate receives a Valentine if distributing at school. We have 23 students.
Don’t forget we are collecting pop tabs for Ronald McDonald house. The Champions Club will collect the tabs once a month for the rest of the school year. You can send them in at any time.
Have a great week!
