When we come back for the week of December 17th...
We earned a Spirit Week - 333 pairs of pajamas were donated!
Monday - Dress Like a Teacher

Wednesday - Disney Day
Thursday - Crazy Hair Day - (this is also our Grinch Day)
Friday - Ugly Sweater Day
Reading:  We will contine "How Chipmunk Got His Stripes".   We will test on Wednesday.  Reassessments ... if needed will be on Friday.  
Vocabulary Words: tunnel, curled, height, direction, toward, healed, brag, and tease
Vocabulary Strategies: compound words and Words ending in ed/ing and CV syllable pattern
High Frequency Words: afraid, dark, for kept many, might, own, show, why, and would
Spelling:  liked, using, riding, chased, spilled, making, closed, hoping, baked, hiding, standing, asked, mixed, and sleeping - We took our spelling test!  No test this week!!
Math:   We will finish Chapter 4 this week.    Our test will be on Tuesday.  Our reassessement ... if needed will be on Thursday. This will be addition with and without regrouping.  Please remember, I am teaching different strategies so the students can solve a math problem.  They will need to show the work.  I am pacing the lessons, some will take one day and some may take two days.  Please watch for homework.  If you do not see homework, then have them practice their math facts.
Science:   Matter - solids, liquids, and gases will be discussed this week.  We will also talk about properties of these three states of matter.  Please ask them about our balloon experiment.  We have been doing many things and asking and answering some great questions.  We will finish this part of matter on Tuesday.  I have placed the Study Guide in the downloads section of this newsletter.  If needed ... a reassessment will be on Thursday.
Social Studies:  We will be learning about our last two Native American Tribes in the next 2 weeks - The Seminole and the Iroquois.  We will be finishing this on Wednesday.  Reassessments will be on Friday if needed.  
Handwriting: Cursive is being introduced.
Summative Reassessment Forms will be handed out for when students recieve a "D" or "F".  The form needs to be returned for the reassessment to happen.  Please note the date the reassessment will be given.
