We will also read our next story:  My Name is Gabriella
Our spelling, reading, and language test will be on Friday this week.
**Science -  our new STEMscopes is Slow Changes to Land
**Math - We are working in chapter 5 - Subtracting with and without regrouping,  I will be teaching them many strategies to solve the math problem.  This week we will be working on Solving Story Problems.  They may be one step or multi-step problems.  Your child will need to know how to solve them and they can choose their strategy.  Please watch for the practice review test this week.  We will be testing on this chapter this week.  Students will need to show their work on each math problem.
**Social Studies - We will be learning about the Native Americans.  Our next group will be the Nez Perce.  Vocabulary words are the following:  buckskin, camas bulb, and cornhusk, bag.   Students use their packets to answer questions and recognize their vocabulary words.  We are collecting clean milk gallons (from Jewel) so we can make an igloo in our classroom.  If you are able...please rinse them, place a little bleach in them, rinse them again, and make sure they are completely dry.  We will need the caps to be attached.  Thank you.  We will need a lot of these...hoping to have it made by the third week in February.
