The Frankfort Square School third-grade teacher has spent her entire career in SHSD161

Congratulations to Summit Hill School District 161 teacher Stacey Froeschle on being named a Teacher of the Year Meritorious Service Awardee by the Illinois State Board of Education. Froeschle was recognized at the ISBE’s Those Who Excel and Teacher of the Year Banquet in Bloomington on Aug. 6.

Froeschle, a third-grade teacher at Frankfort Square School, is entering her 19th school year. She has spent her entire career teaching in the Summit Hill school district and has taught first through sixth grades and in four of the district’s six schools, including Arbury Hills School, Dr. Julian Rogus School and Hilda Walker Intermediate School in addition to Frankfort Square.

“Stacey is an energetic, engaging, and admired teacher in Summit Hill School District 161,” said Superintendent Dr. Paul McDermott. “Her deep connections with students and the collaboration with her peers are trademarks of her teaching, and we are extraordinarily proud of her as our Teacher of the Year!”
