Dear Summit Hill School District 161 Parents and Guardians,

 

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year, I hope this letter finds you well and filled with anticipation for the exciting educational journey ahead. As we prepare to open our doors once again, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt appreciation for your continued support and collaboration in making our District a place where every child can thrive. 

 

The past year presented challenges that tested our resilience and adaptability as a community. Together, we navigated uncharted waters, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our students and staff while ensuring that learning remained our primary focus. As we look forward to the new school year I am confident that the lessons learned and the bonds strengthened will guide us toward even greater success.

Our commitment to excellence in education remains our top priority. We are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment where every student can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Our talented educators are eager to engage, inspire, and empower your children, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. In order for this to occur, it really does take all of us, together.

As partners in your child’s education, your involvement is invaluable. Whether through volunteering, attending school events, or simply having meaningful conversations at home about their day, your support makes a difference. Again, together, we can create a positive and enriching experience for every student.

The theme for this school year is Vision161. With so much new information available, and so many new experiences awaiting our students, staff, and families…we will have to take a fresh look at so many things. Sometimes we have to look for the opportunity to get a better view, a better vantage point. The great part about this is that there is room enough for everyone to join in, to take a look, and to reimagine what SHSD161 can look like. The tagline with this year’s theme helps summarize this sentiment as we lead the way…“Things just look different from the Hill.”

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. I am really excited about the possibilities and new opportunities that lie ahead for our students. We look forward to another successful school year filled with achievements, growth, and memorable moments.
