Assignments
Dear Parents,
As the school year comes to an end, please email me if you would like work for your child over the summer to keep what they have learned this year fresh in their minds. I can give you reading comprehension stories, math computation, math concepts and writing. I will even send it out weekly if you would prefer it that way. Please let me know. Thank you for keeping up with your child's studies during this unusual time.
Sincerely,
Ms. Kinnan

Treasure in the Tumb Reading Fluency 3.5
1589811290seq3.5-Treasureinthetumb.pdf
Please print one copy of the first page. As your child reads for 1 minute: mark the words he/or she get wrong, then mark the point the child was after the 1 minute read. This is called the cold read. Then have the child practice reading the story 3 or 4 times. When your child feels confident, have your child read it again to you for 1 minute. (Hot Read) Please use a different color pen or pencil and mark any errors and then mark the end point. Each time you do one of these reads please send me the cold read and hot read (words per minute and their errors). After your child's cold read count up the words read and mark it cold read. Then when you do the hot read, do the same and mark it hot read.
