    ANNOUNCEMENT OF BOARD MEMBER VACANCY

     

    The Board of Education of Summit Hill School District 161 will appoint a candidate to fill a vacancy created by a recent resignation. The term of the vacancy will be until April 2025.

     

    Who can apply:

    To be eligible to serve, a candidate must be, on the date of appointment to the Board, a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age, a resident of the State of Illinois, a resident of Summit Hill School District 161 for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment, and a registered voter.

     

    How to apply:

    Candidates will complete a letter of intent, expressing a desire to fill the position of School Board Member and a candidate information form. Both items are available on the District website and at the District Administrative Center.

     

    Application Deadline:

    Completed documents must be emailed or delivered to the Superintendent by Friday, February 9, 2024 at 4pm.

     

    Candidate Interviews:

    Selected candidates will be called for an interview during a special Board Meeting at a date to be determined.

     

    Board Action:

    It is anticipated that the Board will appoint a candidate following candidate interviews, no later than the March 20, 2024 Regular Board of Education Meeting.
